Dearest Mike:

I'm so glad you are going with more chemo (and also with having a blog, where we can all tell you how much we love you and are praying for you).

You and Gloria have a tough slog, but you've proven you're equal to the challenge before, and you'll do it again. Your church family will be with you every step of the way, and you both must not hesitate to call on us for any bit of help, however large or small the task may seem to you.

At church your big hugs make my day, Mike, and you are one of my favorite people. You have important ingredients for success in this fight besides courage: a positive attitude, faith and hope, appreciation of the good things your life has given you, love for your wonderful wife and son, and, yes, the ability to laugh about life's vicissitudes.

I love you both and will pray hard for good news.
